About Us
Hi. We are the Benson's - Mike, Robin, Courtnee, and Connor. Sapaveco Ranches is located
in Florence, TX just north of Austin with a second location in Rocksprings, TX. Florence is our primary location. The Rocksprings location is used for family and friend recreation since we love the outdoors. There are many free ranging exotic and native animals.
We moved from big city life in Austin to small town life in 2006. We started our venture by buying five llamas and instantly fell in love with them. Our herd has grown quite a bit over the past few years to near 30 llamas. We have a mixture of light, medium, heavy, and suri wool animals from Peruvian, Chilean, and North American bloodlines.
While living in Austin for twenty years Robin ran her own pet sitting business taking care of any kind of animal from ferrets to cattle. When we moved to Florence it was impossible to travel an hour a day to care for animals.
Robin and Courtnee run the llama operation together as a mother and daughter team. We strive to breed for only the best bloodlines, conformation, and disposition.
Courtnee is attending college at the University of Mary Hardin Baylor in Belton, TX while living at home. This allows her to have hands on with the animals every day while still working towards her Organismal Biology degree and Spanish minor. After graduating she will work for the family commercial landscaping and construction company in Austin, Complete Landscapes, Inc.
Mike and Connor give a lot of support. They both try to attend as many shows as possible. Their help is greatly appreciated.
We attend many area shows as well as Central Regionals, Grand Nationals, Celebrity, and LFA. Next time you’re at a show, look for our stalls. We would love to meet you.
Our home and ranch is always open to visitors. Please feel free to visit any time you are in the area. Don't hesitate to call or e-mail with any questions. We look forward to hearing from you.
